4-star Class of 2028 offensive lineman updates recruitment following Big Cat Weekend
This four-star offensive lineman could be a name to watch for Auburn in the class of 2028
Auburn is gaining serious momentum with Kweli Fielder, a standout four-star offensive tackle from Carrollton, Georgia. While the young prospect had visited the Plains previously, his most recent trip for Big Cat Weekend proved to be a pivotal experience in strengthening his relationship with the program.
Fielder was one of 30 recruits who participated in the unique event, which shifted the focus away from the gridiron. Instead of traditional drills, the recruits engaged in a scavenger hunt, dodgeball, and a pool party—an atmosphere that Fielder clearly appreciated.
"It’s a good thing. Sometimes recruiting can be stressful," Fielder noted. "The most important thing is having fun, seeing what you like, seeing what you don’t like."
Strong Connections on the Plains
A major factor in Fielder's growing interest is his primary recruiter, offensive line coach Tyler Hudanick. Hudanick, who arrived at Auburn alongside head coach Alex Golesh from South Florida, has made a strong impression with his unique blend of energy and professionalism.
"I love him. He’s different than all the other coaches," Fielder said. "Even though he’s young, he’s such a different person. He’s very mature... he’s playful, but he’s mature for his age."
Additionally, the presence of offensive line analyst Chris Kapilovic has bolstered Auburn's position. Fielder admitted that his previous interest in Alabama was largely tied to Kapilovic, who transitioned to the Auburn staff after being let go by the Crimson Tide. "He really made it better," Fielder said regarding Kapilovic's move. "I was liking Alabama a lot because of him and he came to Auburn."
A Prospect to Watch
As a 247Sports four-star recruit, Fielder is establishing himself as a marquee name for the class of 2028. The 247Sports composite currently lists him as the No. 70 overall player in the country and the 10th-best talent in Georgia.
While his recruitment is still in the early stages, the Tigers are firmly in the mix. Having already visited for a spring practice, Fielder has indicated that Auburn is currently in his "top three or top two" list. He plans to return to campus this fall to take in a pair of games as he prepares to head into his junior year of high school.
