Auburn’s Jackson Koivun takes home second career Ben Hogan Award
For the second time in his career, Koivun was honored as the top college golfer in the country
Auburn golf standout Jackson Koivun added another prestigious milestone to his impressive resume this Monday.
Elite Company
Koivun has officially secured his second Ben Hogan Award, cementing his status as one of the finest golfers in the collegiate game. This annual honor recognizes the premier men's college golfer based on their performance across collegiate, amateur, and professional events over the past year. With this victory, Koivun becomes only the third man in history to earn the award twice, joining an elite group that includes Arizona State’s Jon Rahm and Texas Tech’s Ludvig Aberg. He previously claimed the trophy in 2024.
Dominant Season on the Links
The numbers behind Koivun's season are staggering. Since February, he has racked up six victories in just nine starts. His recent recognition includes being named the SEC Player of the Year for the third time in his career. Statistically, he has been a force for Auburn, leading the team with 179 birdies while maintaining a stellar scoring average of 67.97, with 29 of his 36 rounds recorded at par or better.
Global Stage and Postseason Goals
Beyond his collegiate success, Koivun has made his mark on the international stage. He represented Team USA in both the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup and the Walker Cup, playing an instrumental role in the U.S. squad's fifth consecutive victory over Great Britain and Ireland.
Now, his focus shifts back to the collegiate postseason. Koivun aims to lead Auburn to its second national title in three years. The charge for the championship gets underway this Friday at the Omni LaCosta Champions Course in Carlsbad, California.
