Birmingham Stallions’ winning streak nets another UFL weekly award
In its past three games, Birmingham has produced Offensive, Special Teams and Defensive Players of the Week.
The Birmingham Stallions are riding a wave of momentum, fueled by a three-game winning streak that has consistently put their players in the national spotlight. With each consecutive victory, the team has secured a United Football League Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Dominance
Linebacker Tae Crowder is the latest Stallion to claim league recognition, earning the UFL Defensive Player of the Week award for Week 8. Crowder’s standout performance was instrumental in the Stallions’ 14-3 victory over the Columbus Aviators this past Sunday. He led the defensive effort with 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a game-clinching interception with just 1:12 remaining on the clock.
A Streak of Recognition
Crowder joins a growing list of Stallions to be honored during this recent hot streak. In Week 6, wide receiver Justyn Ross, a former Central-Phenix City standout, was named Offensive Player of the Week following the Stallions’ 20-17 win against the Orlando Storm on May 3.
In Week 7, punter Colby Wadman received Special Teams Player of the Week accolades after his role in the 21-17 overtime thriller against the Dallas Renegades on May 10.
Looking Ahead
For Week 8, other UFL honors went to Orlando Storm quarterback Jack Plummer on offense and Louisville Kings kicker Tanner Brown on special teams.
The Stallions will look to keep their streak alive when they face the Columbus Aviators once again. The rematch is set for 2 p.m. CDT this Saturday at Historic Crews Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, and will be broadcast on ABC.
