Celine Dion has shared a touching tribute to legendary R&B singer Peabo Bryson, who passed away on Tuesday at age 75.
The two iconic vocalists are famously remembered for their soaring duet on the Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast.
A Heartfelt Farewell
Dion took to Instagram Stories to express her grief, as noted by EW.com. She reflected on Bryson's "incredible voice" and "kind spirit," emphasizing the warmth he showed her decades ago.
"He was so wonderful and generous to me all those years ago, when we recorded Beauty and the Beast," Dion wrote. "He made me so comfortable, as I was just learning to sing in English. He will remain for me always as a real symbol of joy that music has brought to my life."
Dion concluded her message by offering her condolences to his family, stating, "My heart is with your family, and may you rest in peace, Peabo."
Remembering a Legend
Bryson’s family confirmed that the singer passed away peacefully at 5 p.m. Tuesday, surrounded by his loved ones. His passing occurred just two days after he suffered a stroke.
Throughout a distinguished career that began in the late 1970s, Bryson solidified his place in music history with multiple top-ten albums on the Billboard R&B charts. His accomplishments include the chart-topping hit "Can You Stand The Rain," released in 1991.
