CNN correspondent and Alabama native Kaitlan Collins found herself in the middle of a tense exchange on Wednesday as President Donald Trump took aim at her during a press briefing. The confrontation, which occurred before Collins even had the chance to pose a question, highlighted a moment of clear irritation from the President.

The sparks flew while the media questioned the administration's decision regarding the Department of Justice's $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund. Before addressing the policy, Trump turned his focus toward Collins, labeling CNN a “corrupt organization” and criticizing the reporter directly.
“Never smiles. A young, beautiful woman. Never smiles. I never see a smile on her face,” Trump remarked. “I see her standing there with hatred in her eyes, like, she has hatred because we have borders, because we have a strong military, because we cut our taxes, because we do things that everybody wanted.”

Collins, hosting Wednesday’s edition of “The Source,” noted that the President’s frustration was evident even before the questioning began. As reported by Mediaite, Collins played the clip to provide context for her viewers.
When Collins pressed for clarity on whether the $1.8 billion fund was dead or simply on hold, the President deflected, stating, “I’d have to ask the lawyers. I don’t know.” When she followed up, Trump pivoted back to her background: “You used to be a conservative, she was a conservative from Alabama.”
Collins maintained her composure and delivered a swift, direct rebuttal: “I’m still from Alabama, sir.”
