Tide officially entered in CWS Jello Shot Challenge: ‘We don’t know you, but we’re about to’
The folks at Rocco's have made it official.
The party in Omaha is about to get a lot louder. Shortly after the No. 7 overall seed Alabama defeated St. John’s 7-2 on Sunday/Monday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium to clinch the Tuscaloosa Super Regional, the Crimson Tide earned their spot in the most legendary tradition of the College World Series: the Jello Shot Challenge.
Entering the Omaha Tradition
A ticket to Omaha is the only requirement to join the fray, and the Crimson Tide is officially on the board. Rocco’s Pizza & Cantina, the epicenter of this spirited competition, wasted no time welcoming Alabama’s massive fanbase to the fold.
In a message posted to X, the team at Rocco’s sent a direct invite: “Sweet Home, Alabama. We don’t know you, but I think we’re about to. We’re looking forward to having your fans in Omaha for the first time since the Jello Shot Challenge became a thing. Roll Tide.”
How the Challenge Works
The stakes are simple but the impact is significant. Fans can head to Rocco’s to purchase $5 Jello shots in the name of their favorite team. Each purchase is tabulated to track which school has the most dedicated (and thirsty) supporters. Beyond the bragging rights, the initiative serves a great cause: for every shot sold, Rocco’s donates $1 to an Omaha-based food charity and another $1 to a food bank associated with the participating school.
Chasing History
Alabama fans have a high bar to clear if they want to sit atop the leaderboard. LSU supporters famously set the record during the 2023 College World Series with an staggering 68,888 shots purchased. The Tigers also claim the second spot on the list, having downed 52,390 shots during the 2025 tournament. Now, it is time to see what the Crimson Tide faithful can do on the big stage.
