White House slams Weather Channel’s ‘bulls--t clickbait’ warning for Trump’s birthday UFC match

The White House has faced significant online backlash after publicly attacking The Weather Channel for its forecast regarding a major UFC celebration. The dispute centers on UFC Freedom 250, an event organized to celebrate President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday.

A Stormy Forecast

According to The Weather Channel, the event is tracking toward a 60% to 80% chance of thunderstorms. The outlet predicts heavy rain, wind gusts reaching 34 mph, and triple-digit heat index values fueled by intense humidity, alongside warnings about swarms of mosquitoes and gnats.

White House Retaliation

The administration's official Rapid Response 47 account on X fired back, labeling the forecast as "bulls--t clickbait." In a blunt post, the account dismissed the report, stating the event is meant to celebrate America's 250 years of greatness and will proceed "rain or shine."

The aggressive stance drew mockery from observers, including political commentator Dean Withers, who noted that the network is simply performing its job. Withers' critique of the administration's reaction has already surpassed 3,000 likes.

Event Logistics and Safety

Despite the meteorological tension, UFC President Dana White confirmed to The Mirror that the show will go on. However, safety mandates remain in place; the matches face an automatic 30-minute freeze if lightning is detected within an eight-mile radius. While a venue overhang is designed to protect the octagon, competition cannot occur while lightning remains in the immediate vicinity.

The fight card is headlined by a lightweight title bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje, followed by an interim heavyweight championship clash between Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane. The octagon-style stage is set to host roughly 4,300 fans, while those watching from home can stream the action on Paramount+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
