Country music stars ‘toying around’ with reuniting: ‘Flirting with the idea’
The dup split in 2022.
Country music fans may finally have a reason to celebrate. Tyler Hubbard recently suggested that a Florida Georgia Line reunion for live performances could be on the horizon.
Speaking during a red carpet interview with “Entertainment Tonight” at the ACM Awards this past Sunday, Hubbard provided a long-awaited update on his current relationship with his former bandmate, Brian Kelley. The duo, known for massive hits such as “Cruise,” “H.O.L.Y.” and “This Is How We Roll,” officially split in 2022.
Sparking Reunion Rumors
The speculation first ignited back in January when Kelley posted a video on social media featuring the two on a hike together. While the internet immediately jumped to conclusions about a tour, Hubbard emphasized that the pair is simply taking things slow.
“One photo and the world thinks you’re back on tour automatically,” Hubbard said. “To be honest, we’ve had a blast. It’s been a really fun season of healing… we’ve been hanging out, laughing, been cuttin’ up and goofin’ around.”
Future Shows on the Horizon
While a formal reunion tour isn't confirmed, Hubbard admitted they are actively discussing the possibility of hitting the stage together again. “We have been toying around, flirting with the idea of playing a handful of shows next year, so that gets us both excited,” he explained. He noted that they are currently in a “honeymoon” phase, focusing on their rekindled friendship rather than rushing into high-pressure professional commitments.
However, fans expecting new recordings should keep their expectations in check. Hubbard clarified that there is no new Florida Georgia Line music currently in the works, noting that he is fully occupied with his own solo projects. For now, the goal remains keeping any potential reunion performances low-stress and fun.
