How does Alabama football’s donation revenue compare to rest of SEC?

During the 2025 fiscal year, Alabama football’s donation revenue saw a slight uptick, reaching $53.6 million. This figure marks a steady climb from the FY 2024 total of $53.5 million.

Data obtained via open records requests by 205focus.com shows that the Crimson Tide’s football-specific contributions were the second-highest among public SEC institutions. Private school Vanderbilt is not included in the data as it is not subject to open records laws.

Top of the SEC

For the second consecutive year, Texas topped the list. The Longhorns brought in $59.5 million for football, despite a decrease from their FY 2024 total of $63.3 million. Only two other schools joined Texas and Alabama in the $50 million club for football-specific donations: Oklahoma at $52.5 million and Tennessee at $50.5 million.

The FY 2025 cycle covered July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, a period that encompassed the 2024 season and Kalen DeBoer’s inaugural year leading the Crimson Tide.

How Other Programs Stack Up

Georgia rounded out the top five with $44.1 million in football donations. Auburn followed closely behind with $42.8 million, a notable jump from the $36.2 million reported by the Tigers in 2024.

At the lower end of the spectrum, South Carolina reported $5.9 million and Missouri reported $5.8 million. Three programs—Arkansas, Kentucky, and Mississippi State—did not report any of their contribution revenue as football-specific.

Total Athletic Contributions

Looking at the broader picture, Alabama's total donations across all sports hit $66.8 million. While still a significant figure, it represents a drop from the $75.3 million UA recorded in FY 2024.

Texas once again led the way for total athletic contributions, reporting a league-high $167.8 million—a massive increase from its $133.9 million total in 2024. Tennessee was the only other school to surpass the $100 million threshold, reporting $110.6 million. Oklahoma ($92.9 million) and LSU ($65.7 million) joined Alabama in the top five for all-sport donations.

  • Auburn: $56.5 million (7th in the SEC)
  • South Carolina: $17.5 million (Last among public SEC schools)

Across the conference, total all-sport contributions grew to $952 million in 2025, compared to $946.6 million in 2024. However, football-specific donation revenue saw a decline conference-wide, dropping from $436.2 million to $416.7 million.
