A bizarre bank robbery investigation in Springville has come to a close as authorities have taken a suspect into custody.

The Arrest

Kristopher Tribble, 50, is currently being held without bond in the St. Clair County Jail. He was booked shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday following his arrest at a residence in the Pinson area on Friday.

Tribble faces a charge of first-degree robbery in connection with the heist.

The Incident

The case gained attention for the suspect's unconventional getaway vehicle. According to the FBI and Springville police, the man arrived at PNC Bank on a motorcycle shortly after 12:30 p.m. Monday, which was noticeably covered in aluminum foil held together by painter’s tape.

Witnesses reported that the suspect entered the building donned in a full motorcycle helmet, riding jacket, and riding pants. Inside the bank, he set a handgun on the counter to intimidate staff into handing over cash.

After securing an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect escaped on his makeshift-covered motorcycle, heading along Village Springs Road in the direction of Clay. Thankfully, officials confirmed that no injuries occurred during the robbery.

The Springville Police Department and the FBI collaborated on the week-long manhunt that ultimately led to Tribble's capture. 205focus.com will continue to monitor this case as more information becomes available.
