The road to a title is officially mapped out. The 2026 Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament is set to kick off this Tuesday at DABOS Park in Montgomery, bringing together the league's top contenders for a high-stakes postseason run.

A Rivalry Matchup to Watch

One of the most anticipated opening matchups features a clash between Southern Alabama and Troy. The Jaguars, entering as the No. 5 seed, are slated to battle the No. 4 seed Trojans on Wednesday at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Both programs finished the regular season in a tight three-way deadlock with Appalachian State, each posting a 17-13 conference record. While the Mountaineers secured the No. 3 seed, Troy earned the No. 4 spot by virtue of winning two out of three games against South Alabama during the regular season.

Tournament Outlook

Southern Miss enters the bracket as the No. 1 seed after a dominant regular season campaign, finishing 22-8 in conference play. Coastal Carolina follows closely as the No. 2 seed after an impressive 21-9 run.
