Alabama’s Maxwell Air Force Base gets new commander
Col. Mike Gallucci assumed the position after being a director at the Pentagon, Virginia.
Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery has officially entered a new chapter under fresh leadership.
Col. Mike Gallucci assumed command of the 42d Air Base Wing on June 5, according to a release from the installation. He steps into the role previously held by Col. Shamekia Toliver, who served as the base commander for the past two years.
A New Leader at the Helm
As the new installation commander, Gallucci is responsible for overseeing critical operations at the base. His duties include providing vital support for Air University, the 908th Flying Training Wing, Air Force Materiel Command units, the Defense Information Systems Agency, and a network of more than 40 other mission partners.
Background at the Pentagon
Gallucci arrives in Alabama with extensive experience at the highest levels of the military.
