Alabaster’s Siluria Brewing Co. to Close Doors After Eight-Year Run

A cornerstone of the Alabaster craft beer scene is preparing to pour its final rounds. Siluria Brewing Co., located at 145 First Ave. W., has officially announced that it will cease operations this November. The brewery is scheduled to close its doors for good on Nov. 13, a date that comes just two days after the establishment celebrates its eighth anniversary in the heart of Alabaster.

The decision to close was shared via a social media announcement, where ownership reflected on the journey of the business. According to the announcement, financial decisions made during the brewery's early years eventually placed a significant strain on the business that became difficult to navigate in the current economic climate. Despite the impending closure, the owners took the opportunity to thank the local community for their years of patronage, stating, “Thank you for believing in this,” as they prepared to bid farewell to their loyal customer base.

The loss of Siluria Brewing Co. marks a significant shift for Alabaster’s downtown area, where the brewery served as a popular social hub and a pioneer in the local craft beverage industry. Its eight-year tenure saw the business grow into a community fixture, hosting various local events and contributing to the city's nightlife.
