Country music singer takes hiatus to ‘work on myself for my wife and daughter’

Country music artist Jake Worthington announced this past Friday that he is pressing pause on his musical career to focus on his personal life. The singer, who first gained national recognition as the runner-up on Season 6 of The Voice in 2014, shared the news directly with his followers via social media.

Prioritizing Family

In a candid Instagram post, Worthington explained that the lifestyle associated with his music career had begun to take a toll. "I live a life as my heroes did, but that life gotten ahold of me," he wrote. "I love my family, my friends and my fans too much to let it take over me. I need to take some time to work on myself for my wife and daughter."

Worthington, who married his wife Sophie in 2022, is stepping away to focus on his well-being. The couple welcomed their first child, Whitley Ann Worthington, in October 2024.

A Promise to Return

While his touring and recording schedule is currently on hold, Worthington assured his fanbase that this hiatus is not a permanent goodbye. He ended his announcement on a hopeful note, telling fans, "I promise I will come back even better. God bless country music."
