‘How I Met Your Mother’ actor sentenced for fatally stabbing makeup artist ex-girlfriend

Nick Pasqual, an actor known for his role in How I Met Your Mother, has been sentenced to 32 years to life in prison following his conviction for the attempted murder of his estranged girlfriend, Allie Shehorn, a Los Angeles-based makeup artist.

A Violent Attack

The conviction follows a jury trial that addressed multiple counts, including injury to a spouse or partner, first-degree burglary, and rape. During the proceedings, as reported by ABC, Shehorn testified while bearing visible scars on her neck and hands.

Prosecutors detailed that the attack occurred in the early morning hours of May 23, 2024. Pasqual broke into Shehorn’s Shadow Hills home shortly before 4:30 a.m. and attacked her with a knife. Friends estimate that Shehorn was stabbed more than 20 times before Pasqual fled the state.

Events Leading to the Assault

The couple originally crossed paths while working on the set of Zack Snyder’s film “Rebel Moon.” In the days leading up to the stabbing, Shehorn had secured a restraining order against Pasqual, citing instances of physical and sexual assault, though it remained unclear if the order had been served before the violent encounter.

Following the stabbing, Shehorn was discovered by her roommate, Christine White, and required emergency surgery and extensive intensive care. Authorities eventually apprehended Pasqual at a border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, and extradited him to Los Angeles to face justice.

Ongoing Legal Action

Last week, Shehorn filed a civil lawsuit against Pasqual in Los Angeles County Superior Court, alleging sexual battery, assault, and negligence. The 17-page complaint highlights the same harrowing details surrounding the May 2024 attack that led to the actor's recent sentencing.
