Long-time Gulf Coast realty company changes name as Crescent Sotheby’s enters market
Investment property, art studio, hotel sale and new player in Gulf Coast real estate featured in Kathy Jumper's weekly column.
The real estate landscape across Mobile and Baldwin counties is shifting, marked by significant commercial sales, new creative ventures, and a major rebranding effort from a long-time industry leader. Here is the latest from 205focus.com on what is moving in our local market.
Commercial Property Sales
A notable investment property located at 19551 Greeno Road in Fairhope has been acquired by an out-of-town investor. The 4,125-square-foot facility sold for $600,000, with Herrington Realty representing the seller and Wise Living Real Estate acting on behalf of the buyer.
In the hospitality sector, the 70-room Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham at 1124 Shelton Beach Road in Saraland has officially changed hands. Listed for $5.35 million, the 1.53-acre property drew multiple offers and closed in less than 60 days. The deal was managed by Manish D. Sthanki and Gantt Wilkinson of Stirling.
New Growth and Creative Spaces
Daphne continues to see development activity, with plans approved for a new American Factory Direct Furniture Store. The project, slated for 3.65 acres on Ala. 181 north of Milton Jones Road, will feature a 34,063-square-foot store.
Also in Daphne, the creative community is set to expand with Saltgrass Studio. The new tenant, represented by Chris Harle of White-Spunner Realty, has leased 1,213 square feet at 2101 U.S. 98. The studio plans to open later this summer, offering art supplies, hands-on classes, and flexible creative space for the community.
Major Rebranding
A significant change is coming to the Gulf Coast real estate scene as Louisiana-based Crescent Sotheby’s International Realty expands its footprint. Locally, the firm previously known as Kaiser Sotheby’s International will re-brand to Crescent Sotheby’s.
While the name is changing, the commitment to the region remains the same. The current staff and agents will continue operations at the existing offices located at 1550 W. 2nd St. in Gulf Shores and 10 S. Church St. in Fairhope. The firm's foundation was built by the Kaiser family—Leonard, Andrea, and Erin—and the transition will be led by Kyle Tallo, a Louisiana broker with long-standing property ties to Orange Beach.
