Netflix ends two hit shows after multiple successful seasons
Both shows have released five seasons.
Netflix is officially pulling the plug on two of its most prominent drama series. Both shows, which burst onto the scene in 2020 and quickly became fan favorites, are preparing to conclude their runs after successful multi-season journeys.
The Final Chapters
The streaming giant confirmed last week that both “Emily in Paris” and “The Lincoln Lawyer” are currently in production for their final seasons.
Lily Collins, the face of “Emily in Paris,” shared the news directly with fans via a behind-the-scenes video. "After six unforgettable years of playing Emily Cooper, I’m here to share that this upcoming sixth season will be our final," Collins stated. "Season 6 will bring you everything you love about the show and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime."
The series, which follows an American marketing executive navigating life, love, and fashion in Paris, became a true cultural phenomenon. Over its run, the show dominated the charts, spending 32 weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10 list and hitting number one in 90 countries.
Series creator Darren Star, 64, expressed his gratitude for the show's massive success in a statement provided to Netflix Tudum. Fans can look forward to a grand finale, as production for the final season is set to span across Greece, Monaco, and Paris.
Wrapping Up The Lincoln Lawyer
Meanwhile, "The Lincoln Lawyer"—which stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as the unique attorney operating his practice from the backseat of a Lincoln Town Car—is also approaching its conclusion. The show is adapted from the works of Michael Connelly.
Co-showrunners and executive producers Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez shared their thoughts on the series finale via Netflix Tudum. "While it is of course bittersweet, it’s also an amazing opportunity to bring this adventure to a close and perhaps chart a new course for some of our characters into the future," they said. "We are immensely grateful to Netflix and A+E Studios for the opportunity to land this plane the right way."
While cameras are currently rolling for the final seasons of both hits, 205focus.com readers should note that Netflix has yet to provide specific premiere dates for these concluding installments.
